Mmm... dinner!

While sad to leave Costa Rica, A was thrilled to be home and able to once again feed herself in her high chair and make big messes.

More fun in the sun

We loved the hammock and the view from our cabin (above), and had a great time crashing the pool at the place nearby (below) where J&S were staying!

Check out the iguana at the bottom right of these photos-- we didn't even notice it at the time!

Beach babe

We spent a few days at Manuel Antonio national park and beach with dear friends J&S, who are expecting a little one of their own soon; we were thrilled that we could coordinate overlapping vacations. A loved the ocean and the sand, and thankfully didn't try to eat any of it.

A visits Costa Rica!

For the first two weeks of August, we spent time visiting E's extended adopted family in Costa Rica. A had a GREAT time! She loved the Ticos, and they loved her. She learned to call chickens (of which there were many behind the house) and despite the fact that she was often being passed around and carried, learned to crawl three days into the trip! Here she hangs out with 9-year-old N, who was three years from being born when E first started going down to CR.

Best friends, second generation

E and her best friend H are enjoying living in the same state again for the first time since high school, and loving having girls together! S is six and a half months younger than A, but will catch up quickly at the rate she's going!

A's proficient scooting backwards often means she gets herself wedged under furniture...
